mediaor

Sources

I've listed the sources that I currently aggregate for mediaor's "tail" in the sidebar. Are there are any other sources that you guys would like to see added (or removed)?

The GrooveShark blog has been warming up a bit recently http://www.grooveshark.com/blog/ -- but apart from that I think you've got everything that I've got and a few more besides.

I have a blog that you might want to include: http://clicknoise.net . Not really online music news, but commentary. - Jean.

Would actually prefer commentary over news. I've added you. Thanks.

I'm actually also trying to figure out how to put the source directly in the headline (and link directly back to the source site), but haven't yet figured out how to do that with my limited technical ability. I'll keep banging away at it...

cool, that was going to be my only suggestion: to put the source somewhere at the top of the post instead of the end. That way if I'm already familiar with the source it helps me quickly filter what to read or not.

I've sent a couple of emails to Tumblr (that's what I'm using to aggregate the feeds) asking them how to do it, but haven't gotten a response yet. If anyone here knows how to do it, help is much appreciated.

Tumblr got back to me saying they don't support this ability yet.... but it will be "coming soon".

I've been playing around with Yahoo Pipes as to aggregate and filter some of the feeds. My first attempt is pulling Fred Wilson's feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/avc) and then filtering where "item:category" contains "music". Let's see if that works. If so, then I can apply the same technique to some of the other larger blogs that cover far more than just the music 2.0 space....

i see your site has pulled a couple of posts from my music technology blog already - http://www.podcomplex.com/blog...

I must check out tumblr... i have a couple of newsfeed type pages which use Yahoo Pipes (you can find them at the bottom of my homepage - in the external news feeds box.)

i haven't really integrated them into the site though. I think your implementation of mediaor is a good use of the technology... will be interesting to see how it develops!

I've added about a half dozen new sources over the last couple of weeks and fixed some broken feeds. Enjoy.

Perhaps you want to include my weblog at http://www.musikkteknologen.no ?

I'll be blogging mainly about my latest project, Live! Revolution, a series of live jazz concert webcasts from a local cafe here in Oslo, Norway. Topics will include copyright, music license fees, emerging business models, financing, marketing, and hardware and software requirements.

I also try to put music 2.0 into a local context.

Jason,

I think you're currently including my feedburner feed: feeds.feedburner.com/DjAlchemi

Just to alert you that I've changed the source of this feed, so it now pulls together stuff from my alchemi.co.uk and netblogsrocknroll.com blogs, plus selected bookmarks that I've stored on furl.

If this causes any glitches, let me know and I'll look into it.

cheers, David

My company recently launch an online community for today's independent artists called KnowTheMusicBiz.com. We feature a music business wiki and guest bloggers on the independent music business and related technologies. John Doe (Founder of X) also maintains an active blog with us called "What Would John Doe Do?" where he answers questions from our community members about music and the music business. You can check out the WWJDD? blog here.

We could potentially be a fit for a mediaor's tail source.
