About Me:: Independent consultant and writer, working in the area of online learning. I'm a Chartered Psychologist and previously worked in usability and Human-Computer Interface design. I'm just finishing a book on how people discover music and other media, including the dynamics of fan communities, and how best to support this informal learning through word-of-mouth.

Work History:: Psychologist at Department for Education and Skills (UK Government) 1987-95.
Self-employed part-time from 1992; full-time since 1995. I co-founded a Broadband Service Provider company (wiredworkplace.net), and have also held Board positions with an independent cinema and training information provider.
